Twenty years ago the Berlin Wall was torn down. It allowed thousands and thousands of people the freedom to choose liberty or tyranny. Not only did the people of Eastern Europe choose liberty, they chose to end tyranny - sort of.
Unfortunately another wall has come down and that's the wall that differentiates between liberty and tyranny. People seem to have blurred the two.
Tyranny in the name of benevolence (such as a Democratic, or Socialistic, or Communistic, or Progressive government) is still tyranny.
Any government that would take property from the people is tyrannical, no matter the reason.
Any government that would restrict the rights of the people is tyrannical, no matter the reason.
Today our government not only takes property in the form of land and money, and restricts rights in the form of more regulations, our government claims a benevolence in doing so. These acts are in direct violation and contempt of the Constitution for the United States.
Both sides, Democrat and Republican, are in violation. Both sides show contempt for the Constitution. In many ways the Republicans are in greater violation.
Democracy by its very nature is a violator of liberty, for any system that would grant the majority power over the minority will not have the best interest of the minority, only their own - regardless of the issue.
I say the Republicans are in greater violation because there are no statesman in government, only politicians, yet they wear the guise of being statesman and defenders of liberty and the Constitution. This is their lie!
I have yet to find one Republican in government who isn't a politician. I have yet to find one Republican in government who claims to have an understanding of liberty, and will fight for it. I have yet to find a Republican in government who doesn't continually fall for the political tricks of the Democrats.
For example: Each time the Democrats propose a plan the Republicans complain that it will violate our liberties. The Democrats counter that the Republicans don't have a plan. So the Republicans propose a plan of their own to counter the Democrats. Both sides compromise and support the Republican plan, which was a watered-down version of the Democratic plan. In the end our government comes up with a plan that will violate our liberties - not as much as the Democrats wanted, but enough to satisfy their need for power and control over the people.
When will the Republicans learn?
When will we learn?
